Hyderabad: The CPM state unit has demanded a probe into custodial death of Santosh, a native of Jagtial, by a sitting judge. Santosh was arrested by Nizamabad cyber crime police on the charges that he had deceived youth in the pretext of providing jobs abroad.

However, Santosh suddenly passed away while the investigation was under progress. Family members of the deceased alleged that there severe injuries on Santosh’s body and was tortured in the guise of investigation, CPM State Secretary John Wesley said in a statement.

The State government should immediately order for a probe into the incident. If any police officials were found responsible, stern action should be initiated against them, he added. EOM
