Mancherial: Under the aegis of Lead Bank – Union Bank of India (UBI) – about 20 scheduled commercial banks and cooperative sector banks organised a day long district level credit outreach programme at a function hall in Kyathanpalli of Mandamarri mandal on Thursday. Additional Collector Ila Tripathi was the chief guest of the event.
Speaking on the occasion, Tripathi advised bankers to focus on agriculture lending and to ensure financial inclusion of all sections of the society. She suggested the small and medium scale entrepreneurs and citizens to utilise loan facilities offered by various banks. She handed over cheques worth Rs 18 crore to around 150 applicants belonging to 20 different financial institutions.
Lead Bank Manager Haveli Raju said that the outreach programmes would be conducted at branch-level in all the banks till October 31. He stated that over 500 customers belonging to several parts of the district attended the prorgamme. He thanked those who extended support in making the event a success.
Bankers create awareness over loan facilities
Staffers including branch managers of UBI, State Bank of India, ICICI, HDFC, AXIS IDBI, Karur Vysya, Telangana Grameena Bank (TGB), Bank of Baroda and many other financial institutes explained features of loans to the customers. They clarified doubts of the participants and created awareness over the lending facilities.
UBI Deputy General Manager Arun Kumar, SBI Deputy General Manager Vivek Chandra, Regional Manager Sanjeev Kumar, TGB Regional Manager Chandrasekhar, District Central Cooperative Bank Assistant General Manager BRK Raju, District Rural Development Organisation Project Director Seshadri, District Industries General Manager Harinath, District BC Welfare Officer Nazim and District Adult Education Officer Purshottam Naik were present.
