Cricket betting gang held in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: The Cyberabad Special Operations team caught red-handed a cricket betting gang and arrested three persons at Upparpally in Rajendranagar here on Saturday. Police seized Rs 5.6 lakh, mobile phones, two bikes and other material from them.
The arrested persons were Mahendra Kumar (39), an automobile businessman from Ramkoti, Rajesh Masnaji Surya (23) from Siddiamber Bazaar and Kuldeep Singh (24), a resident of Jummerat Bazaar. Three suspects, Chandra Paul Singh, Amith and Naresh Singh, are absconding.
According to the SOT officials, the gang was organising betting on the ongoing IPL matches by collecting bets from punters. Following a tip-off, the police caught them while they were exchanging the bet amount.
They were handed over to the Rajendranagar police for further action.
