Cricket betting racket busted in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: A tailor who was organising online cricket betting from his shop at Bahadurpura was caught by the Commissioner’s Task Force (South) on Tuesday. The police seized Rs 70,000 cash and a mobile phone from him.

Mohd Arif (29) of Hussainialam runs a tailor shop at Bahadurpura and was organising cricket betting using ‘diamondexch9.com’. “Along with the main bookie Parvez, he was organising cricket betting and luring people to place stakes,” said S Raghavendra, Inspector Task Force (south).

On a tip-off, a team nabbed Arif near Fiza Hotel in Bahadurpura and handed over to the Bahadurpura police station along with the property for further action.
