Hyderabad: Andhra rallied splendidly to defeat an error-prone Hyderabad by six runs in women’s under-19 quarterfinal match at Sawai Man Singh Stadium in Jaipur on Wednesday.

Chasing 165 runs for a win, Hyderabad were cruising comfortably as they were 134 for 2 in 34 overs at one stage. However, once Shree Charani had G Trisha trapped in front for 49, Hyderabad batters committed hara-kiri. They lost their last seven wickets for 24 runs to hand over the match to Andhra. There were as many as six run outs with Hyderabad batters pressing the panic button.

Trisha and W Mamatha (56, 4×4) added 75 runs for the third wicket. After Mamatha followed Trisha at the same score, Hyderabad batters choked and Andhra eked out a fine comeback win.
Earlier Andhra put up 164 in 48.3 overs.

Brief scores: Andhra 164 in 48.3 overs (P Aishwaryarai 31, Sakshi Rao 2/27, K Vaishnavi 2/31) bt Hyderabad 158 in 49 overs (W Mamatha 56, G Trisha 49)
