Adilabad: A farmer died, allegedly by suicide after consuming pesticide at his field due to depression on account of damage to standing cotton crop in the recent rains at Nagalkonda village in Narnoor mandal.
Police identified the farmer as Ade Srinivas (27), from Nagalkonda village.
He had taken a loan of Rs 5 lakh and cultivated the crop in four acres and was upset about his inability to repay the debts as the crop was damaged by rains, he said.
The farmer is survived by wife and daughter. A case was booked.
