CRPF ADG Ravideep Singh Sahi retires after 40 years of service

CRPF Additional Director General, South Zone, Ravideep Singh Sahi retired after more than 40 years of service. A 1986-batch officer, he served in Jammu and Kashmir, Chhattisgarh and the Northeast and held several key operational and security assignments.

HYDERABAD: A farewell parade was held at Group Centre, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Chandrayangutta, on the occasion of the superannuation of Ravideep Singh Sahi, Additional Director General, South Zone, CRPF.

An officer of the 1986 batch, Sahi retired on Wednesday after more than 40 years of service. He joined the CRPF as an Assistant Commandant and served in challenging operational theatres, including Jammu and Kashmir, Chhattisgarh and the Northeast.

Sahi was decorated with several honours, including the Police Medal for Gallantry and President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service.

Following the Parliament House attack in 2001, he was deputed to the Lok Sabha Secretariat as Joint Director (Security) in 2002 and served there till 2007, contributing to the strengthening of security arrangements at the Parliament complex.

As IG, Srinagar Sector, he played a key role in anti-terror operations and law-and-order management before and after the abrogation of Article 370. He also strengthened the Valley Quick Action Team. As IG (Communication and IT), he contributed to the digitisation of the CRPF, including e-Office and video-conferencing systems.

As ADG, South Zone, he was involved in anti-Naxal operations along the Telangana-Chhattisgarh and Gadchiroli-Chhattisgarh borders.
