CSC e-Governance to provide electoral services in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: The Common Service Centres (CSC) e-Governance Services India Ltd, a Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) initiative, has been permitted to render vital electoral services to the general public in the 15 assembly constituencies of Hyderabad district.
The CSC e-Governance Services India Ltd will provide services related to search facility in electoral rolls, online filing of various registration forms such as Form-6, 5A, 7, 8,8A submission of Form-001 etc., according to District Election Officer, Hyderabad and Commissioner, GHMC, DS Lokesh Kumar.
According to Election Commission of India (ECI), which has an MoU with CSC e-Governance Services India Ltd, the CSC has a large network in rural and urban areas in the country with adequate infrastructure and manpower. Since these CSC centres already provide many utility services to citizens, the ECI has decided to expand the scope of SCS to electoral services like search facility in the electoral roll and online filing of various registration forms e.g. Forms 6, 6A, 7, 8,8A etc., to the citizens through CSC in the States.
According to ECI, the CSC centres will not be permitted to profile the data obtained for electors while submitting applications for modification, correction etc. in any way.
Moreover, the charges for transaction for electoral registration application forms, printing of electoral roll per page, submission of form EPIC-001, tracking of application status and registration of complaint on NGS through CSC will not exceed Re 1, according to the terms and conditions.
The cost of EPIC preparation will not exceed Rs 30, which will include all charges such as cost of card, printing and delivery to concerned elector, within maximum seven days max for generation and additional eight days for delivery to the applicant at home. If time limits are not met with then no charges are payable to CSC.
