Cyberabad CP distributes groceries to transgenders
Speaking on the occasion, Cyberabad Commissioner Sajjanar emphasised on the world’s first-ever Transgender Desk that has been established by Cyberabad Police and spoke about how the desk is doing a good job
Hyderabad: Cyberabad Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar on Saturday distributed grocery kits to 145 transgenders. This initiative was taken up in association with Sunitha Krishnan of Prajwala Foundation, who arranged the groceries. The 18-item kit includes 10 kg rice, half-kg toor dal, moong dal, atta, salt, sugar, spices, tea, etc.
Speaking on the occasion, Sajjanar emphasised on the world’s first-ever Transgender Desk that has been established by Cyberabad Police and spoke about how the desk is doing a good job by taking care of the community’s needs.
“The transgender community has been suffering discrimination their entire life and this desk is a small step towards a great journey. We are working towards inclusiveness of the community, facilitating their journey towards a dignified life,” said Sajjanar.
Also present at the distribution were Anasuya, DCP W & CSW, Venkateshwarlu, DCP Madhapur, Ch Raghunandan Rao, ACP Madhapur, Transgender Desk staff, among others.
