Cyberabad police catch 480 drunk drivers in nighttime crackdown

Cyberabad police caught 480 drunk drivers during Saturday night checks, mostly aged 21–40. Two-wheelers accounted for the majority, with Miyapur recording the highest violations. Nineteen offenders had BAC levels above 301 mg/100 ml, highlighting the need for stricter road safety enforcement

Hyderabad: The Cyberabad police, during drunken driving checks on Saturday night, caught 480 persons. Among those caught are 371 two-wheelers, 19 three-wheelers, 85 four-wheelers and five heavy vehicle drivers.

The highest number of people, 82, were caught by the Miyapur police, followed by Jeedimetla police – 54, Shamshabad – 44, Rajendranagar – 40 and Shadnagar and Gachibowli – 38 each.


Age-wise, the highest figure, 180, is between 21 years and 30 years, followed by 177 aged between 31 years and -40 years. Among those caught, 19 people had a BAC level above 301 mg/100 ml.
