Hyderabad: With dense fog expected to intensify across Cyberabad limits during the winter season, the Cyberabad Police have issued a safety advisory urging motorists to be extremely cautious on the Outer Ring Road (ORR), highways and major city routes where visibility is significantly reduced.
Officials noted that fog-related accidents typically rise during early mornings and late nights, prompting the need for strict adherence to safety guidelines.
Safety guidelines issued by Cyberabad Police:
- *Drive slowly and maintain full control of the vehicle as fog drastically reduces visibility
- *Use low-beam headlights and fog lamps, avoid high beams
- *Maintain a safe distance from vehicles ahead to prevent sudden collisions
- *Avoid abrupt braking and lane changes, apply brakes gradually
- *Keep windshields clean and use defogger or anti-fog modes
- *Do not use hazard lights while the vehicle is in motion
- *Follow lane markings carefully and avoid overtaking in foggy conditions
- *Two-wheeler riders are advised to wear reflective jackets and ensure helmet visors are clean
- *Pedestrians should avoid dark clothing and cross roads only after confirming clear visibility
- *Heavy vehicles must use reflective stickers and keep lights on at all times
- *Drivers are advised to stay alert, avoid distractions and ensure vehicle lights, wipers, tyres and reflectors are in proper condition
- *Motorists should also avoid unnecessary travel during periods of heavy fog
Cyberabad Police added that patrolling will be intensified in fog-prone zones, especially on the ORR, to enhance public safety.
They urged citizens to follow traffic advisories issued through radio, social media and navigation apps and to cooperate with traffic personnel deployed in affected areas.
