Cyberabad police issue Winter travel advisory
Cyberabad Police have warned commuters about dense winter fog reducing visibility, urging pedestrians, two-wheelers, and motorists to exercise caution. Safety measures include slowing down, using reflective clothing, checking lights, and following traffic rules on highways and city roads.
Hyderabad: The Cyberabad Police have issued a public advisory urging commuters to exercise extreme caution during dense fog conditions prevailing in winter, warning that reduced visibility could lead to road accidents.
In the advisory issued on Saturday, the police have stressed that pedestrians and two-wheeler riders are particularly vulnerable and should avoid unnecessary travel during foggy hours.
Special caution has been advised on the Outer Ring Road (ORR), highways, and major city roads where visibility drops sharply in the early mornings. Road users have been asked to slow down, maintain safe distances between vehicles, and ensure headlights, fog lamps, tail lights, and reflectors are clean and functioning properly.
Pedestrians were advised to cross roads carefully, wear bright or reflective clothing, and avoid walking near junctions and curves during low visibility. Two-wheeler riders were asked to wear reflective jackets, keep helmet visors clean, avoid sudden braking or lane changes, and not overspeed, especially in the mornings.
The police also cautioned motorists against using mobile phones while driving, using cruise control in fog, or making abrupt speed changes.
Drivers were told to follow lane markings, reduce speed near junctions and bends, and strictly adhere to traffic police instructions in fog-affected areas.
