Hyderabad: The Cyberabad police have on Thursday launched an NDPS Enforcement Cell headed by Inspector R Srinivas, to deal with drug cases.
“The Narcotics Control Cell will focus on having preventive strategies, identification of hotspots where ganja and other drugs are being sold or peddled from and initiate action,” Cyberabad Commissioner M Stephen Raveendra said, adding that the cell would also take up awareness programmes among the public.
Meanwhile, the police stepped up its drive against ganja sales and booked 10 cases against 17 peddlers. A total of 11 kilograms of ganja was seized from them. The police registered another 23 e-petty cases against persons found selling banned tobacco products. The police appealed to the public to pass on information on ganja sale on Dial 100 or 9490617444.
