Hyderabad: In a significant breakthrough, the Cyberabad police, along with teams from other States, have reportedly identified and arrested a few suspects allegedly involved in the sensational Chandanagar Khazana Jewellers robbery case.
Extensive searches helped investigators gather crucial evidence indicating that the crime was committed by a gang from Bihar.
Two suspects were traced to Bidar and taken into custody, while another was nabbed in Pune, Maharashtra.
Sources said the arrested individuals are currently being questioned at local police stations. However, the local police are yet to officially confirm the development.
Investigators have completed the identification process and obtained the suspects’ photographs based on available technical and circumstantial evidence.
The gang reportedly arrived in Hyderabad about a month ago, rented a house in Jagadgirigutta in the suburbs, and worked at a local glass manufacturing unit while planning the heist.
According to police, the suspects conducted daily reconnaissance of the jewellery store and purchased two-wheelers to use for arriving at and fleeing from the crime scene.
The vehicles’ registration numbers, captured in CCTV footage, played a key role in tracking the suspects.
