Hyderabad: The Cyberabad police arrested three persons on charges of cheating investors by promising them good returns on investments. The arrested persons include Rameswara Behera alias RK Bhatt, Shaik Jainab alias Niharika and her husband Akbar Khan, all from Bengaluru.

Police said one victim from the city was made to invest Rs 2 lakh initially and subsequently was persuaded to make additional investments totaling to Rs 1.45 crore between 2019 and 2021.

Despite promises of high returns and assurances that losses incurred during the Covid-19 lockdown would be recovered, no funds were released.
