Hyderabad: Cyberabad Police raided a farmhouse in Bakaram village of Moinabad and booked the organisers of an illegal birthday party attended by 51 foreign nationals on Thursday night.
Officials seized 90 bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) and equipment used for loud music.
Acting on a tip-off, police teams from Rajendranagar Zone and the SOT Shamshabad unit raided SK Retreat farmhouse. They found a gathering of foreign nationals including 14 men and 37 women, all from 11 different countries, including Uganda, Nigeria, Liberia, Botswana, Kenya, Cameroon, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Ghana, and Malawi.
The liquor haul included 59 beer tins, 7 beers, 4 breezers, 9 vodka bottles, whiskey and wine bottles among others.
Police said the organisers had not obtained mandatory permissions from the local police for the event, liquor service, or music.
Immigration authorities were called in to verify the validity of the participants’ travel documents. Six women and nine men with proper papers were released, while the rest were served Restriction Orders by the Bureau of Immigration and shifted to a holding centre.
Authorities said further legal action would be taken if visa or stay violations are detected. It also emerged that two women and one man had previously consumed drugs.
The Moinabad police booked a case against the management of SK Retreat for violations under excise laws and for conducting the gathering without police permission.
