Hyderabad: The Cyberabad Traffic Police branch will be intensifying its drunken driving checks across all important areas of the city today on the eve of New Year. The police will be setting up check-posts to conduct checks on motorists.
Cyberabad Police took to Twitter requesting people not to drink and drive. There will be extra patrols for the night. The police urged party-goers to plan ahead of time for how they’ll get back home, whether it is a designated driver or cab.

Across all the three commissionerates, the police will be setting up check-posts to conduct checks on motorists. The police are more determined to ensure that no accident occurs due to drunk driving on the night of December 31.
Already, the traffic police have identified certain spots where there were instances of rash and negligent driving and special focus will be kept in these spots.
The police, along with the other departments concerned, will form special teams to check drug peddling and illegal activities at pubs and bars in the city. This apart, police pickets will be posted at important public places where crowds gather for celebrations.
Besides, three-star and above hotels, clubs, and pubs in the jurisdiction of Hyderabad, Cyberabad, and Rachakonda police limits have been instructed to ensure that only the guests who produce an either electronic or physical certificate of both doses of vaccination, were allowed for New Year celebrations.
