Hyderabad: The Cyberabad Special Operations Team (Kukatpally) on Monday nabbed seven members of an interstate gang allegedly involved in ganja smuggling. The police seized 400 kg of ganja, a DCM vehicle, a car and six mobile phones from them.
The prime suspects, a woman identified as Manisha Padwal from Solapur, the receiver of the consignment, and Tribhune, the supplier from Odisha, are absconding. Seven others who allegedly facilitated and transported the consignment were arrested.
According to the police, Manisha had ordered the ganja consignment from Tribhune in Odisha.
“On the instructions of Manisha, the remaining seven persons went to Odisha, collected the ganja in the DCM vehicle and were on their way to Solapur when they were nabbed,” said P Shobhan Kumar, DCP, Special Operations Team, Cyberabad.
