Cyberabad Traffic Police caught 218 persons for drunk driving
Of them, 176 were driving two-wheelers, 19 were auto drivers and 23 were driving cars
Hyderabad: A weekend special drunk driving check by Cyberabad Traffic Police on Saturday led to the apprehension of 218 persons driving under the influence of alcohol. Of them, 176 were driving two-wheelers, 19 were auto drivers and 23 were driving cars.
According to the Cyberabad Traffic Police, of the 218 offenders caught, 20 were found to have blood alcohol concentrations (BAC) ranging between 200 mg/100 ml and 300 mg/100 ml while 10 were caught with BAC ranging between 301 mg/100 ml to 500 mg/100 ml. All those caught are to be produced before the court.
The traffic police cautioned that those driving under the influence of alcohol and causaing accidents killing people, would be arrested and sent to jail under section 105 of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita 2023 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) for which maximum punishment is 10 years of jail and with fine.
