Hyderabad: In a case of cyber misuse, a website operating under the misleading name of ‘SBI Term Insurance’ was reportedly found hosting links to pirated movies.

The domain sbiterminsurance.com surfaced online recently, and users who clicked on the ‘Term Insurance Lapse and Revival Guide’ section were unexpectedly redirected to pages where pirated films were streaming.

SBI customers brought the issue to the notice of the authorities, who were startled by the misuse of its brand name.

Following a complaint from SBI authorities, the Cybercrime police have taken up the investigation and efforts are on to trace those responsible for creating and operating the fake portal.
