Nirmal: A daily wage earner from Maharashtra drowned in the Godavari river near Basar while taking a holy dip on Monday.
Basar Sub-Inspector Ganesh said that Balaji (36) from Rathnelli in Dharmabad Taluka of Nanded district in Maharashtra met a watery grave. He was accompanied by his family members who could not save him while drowning. They were attending a wedding in Basar.
Gangadhar, father of Balaji, lodged a complaint with police. A case was registered. Investigations were taken up.
