Hyderabad: AICC Telangana incharge Manickam Tagore will participate in the Congress party’s Dalit Girijan Dandora at Chevella on Wednesday. He will be arriving in the city on a four-day visit and will be holding a meeting with State Congress unit leaders including TPCC president A Revanth Reddy on Thursday.

Meanwhile,  AICC official spokesperson D Sravan lashed out at the State government and questioned whether the Dalit Bandhu programme held at Huzurabad on Monday was a TRS party programme or a government programme. “If it was a government programme, why were Padi Kaushik Reddy and TRS Huzurabad constituency candidate Gellu Srinivas Yadav permitted to attend the meeting?” Sravan asked, addressing media persons here on Tuesday.

Alleging that the government introduced the scheme only to woo voters in Huzurabad constituency, he said the scheme would be discontinued after the by-poll in the constituency. TPCC vice president Mallu Ravi said Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao was deceiving Dalits in the State since he did not fulfill the promise to provide three acres of land to them.

He said Congress had always strived for the welfare of Dalits and appealed to the people to turn up in large numbers for the Dalit-Girijan Dandora programme at Raviryala.
