Hyderabad: The controversy triggered by BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar’s alleged comments on his colleague, SC Welfare Minister Adluri Laxman Kumar, is yet to subside, with MLAs from the Dalit community taking a serious view of the issue.
MLAs Kavvampally Satyanarayana, Vemula Veeresham, Mandula Samuel, and Kale Yadaiah held a meeting with TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud at the MLA Quarters here on Tuesday and raised strong objections to the BC Welfare Minister’s remarks. The MLAs are learnt to have said that Prabhakar’s comments were uncalled for and condemned his behaviour.
The SC Welfare Minister had earlier demanded that the BC Welfare Minister apologise, failing which he should take responsibility for the consequences.
Party sources said the TPCC president informed the MLAs that he had already spoken to both Ministers. “The issue has already been settled. I will hold another meeting with both Ministers tomorrow to set things right,” Goud assured the MLAs.
