Karimnagar: Dalits and TRS activists celebrated the release of Rs 500 crore by the State government for the Telangana Dalit Bandhu scheme on Monday.

The State government issued a Government Order releasing Rs 500 crore to Huzurabad Assembly constituency for implementation of the Dalit Bhandu scheme.


TRS cadre and Dalits celebrated the event by bursting crackers and distributing sweets across Huzurabad constituency. Welfare Minister Koppula Eashwar along with MLAs Korukanti Chander and Nannapaneni Narender and others participated in the celebrations held at Gandhi Chowk, Jammikunta.

Chief Whip Balka Suman, Parkal MLA Challa Dharma Reddy and others performed palaabishekam to the statue of Ambedkar in Huzurabad town. They thanked Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao for releasing Rs 500 crore for implementation of Dalit Bandhu scheme. Terming the scheme as a great one, they said it would bring about a massive change in the socio-economic status of Dalits.

Chandrashekahar Rao will launch the path-breaking scheme at Shalapalli in Huzurabad town on August 16. The Chief Minister will distribute allocation certificates to the beneficiaries to mark the launch of the scheme. The district administration is busy with identifying the beneficiaries for the scheme.
