Danam Nagender welcomes High Court disqualification verdict, says no Supreme Court plans

Khairatabad MLA Danam Nagender welcomed the High Court judgment disqualifying him from the Assembly and said he had not considered moving the Supreme Court. He asserted that he was ready to contest again if elections were announced and fight for victory

Hyderabad: Hours after the High Court disqualified him as Khairatabad MLA on Friday, Danam Nagender said he welcomed the judgment and had not thought about approaching the Supreme Court. Speaking to media persons, Nagender stressed that he had been fighting elections all these years. “If the election schedule is released, I will contest and emerge victorious,” he said. Asked about the possibility of approaching the Supreme Court, he said, “I have not thought about all those issues.”

The turncoat MLA repeatedly said that despite the judgment going against him, he was prepared to fight again. “Fighting is not new to me. I am prepared to fight,” Nagender stated. Earlier in the Assembly on Friday, the turncoat MLA made interesting observations. Speaking during Zero Hour, he found fault with Housing Department officials for failing to follow prescribed procedures and protocol.

He said officials conducted the draw of lots and announced beneficiaries for Indiramma Houses even before the MLA arrived at the venue. They were also refunding money to others who failed to secure houses in the draw despite being eligible, he stated. “When the matter was raised with Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, he asked me to be cool. By staying cool, things have come this far and I have no idea what happens today,” Nagender had said in the Assembly.
