Dasoju Sravan accuses Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy of exploiting position
BRS MLC Dasoju Sravan accused Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy of misusing his position and alleged links to stone-crusher and real-estate mafias. He also questioned Congress’ action against Konda Surekha and sought accountability over allegations involving Revanth Reddy’s aides.
Hyderabad: BRS MLC Dasoju Sravan accused Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy of using his position for rampant exploitation and emerging as a white-collar criminal. He questioned the Congress’ response to allegations made by Minister Konda Surekha and her daughter Sushmita against Srinivas Reddy and Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s close aide Rohin Reddy.
Speaking at a press conference at Telangana Bhavan on Thursday, Sravan held Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy responsible for a stone-crusher and real-estate mafia around Hyderabad. He challenged the Minister to a public debate on his alleged assets and ill-gotten wealth, especially after the Congress came to power. He also alleged that Raghava Constructions, which belongs to the Minister’s family, was involved in several illegal projects across the State.
Rejecting Srinivas Reddy’s repeated references to former BRS leader K Kavitha, the BRS MLC questioned whether the Minister was planning to join Kavitha’s party or was a Kavitha covert within the Congress. He said Kavitha had left the BRS and was running her own party.
Sravan accused the Congress government of using Kavitha as a new political weapon to divert attention from alleged corruption and mafia activities. He said both Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy were misusing their positions to help their kith and kin.
The BRS MLC said Konda Surekha’s suspension was not just an internal matter of the ruling Congress, but was an administrative issue as she was a Minister. He sought to know why action was taken against her, but not against Revanth Reddy’s close aide Rohin Reddy despite allegations against him.
He also questioned why show-cause notices were issued to Kathi Venkataswamy but not to Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy. He also cited Komatireddy Venkat Reddy’s earlier allegation that Revanth Reddy had paid Rs 50 crore for the TPCC post. He asked why the Congress leadership was not acting against Revanth Reddy over his reported claim that he would remain Chief Minister for 10 years.
