Hyderabad: BRS leader Dasoju Sravan on Sunday strongly condemned the Telangana government’s harsh and authoritarian measures against the Telangana Special Police (TGSP) personnel. The suspension of 39 police personnel for peacefully raising their grievances is a clear act of repression and an assault on their dignity and constitutional rights, he said.
Sravan expressed grave concern over the inhumane working conditions imposed on these personnel, which force them to work like laborers, keep them away from their families for extended periods, and deny them basic leave. Despite numerous appeals and repeated representations, the concerns of the TGSP personnel have been blatantly ignored by the state administration.
The government’s new leave manual, introduced without proper consultation or understanding of the hardships faced by the Special Police, has only aggravated their suffering. Modifying leave rules arbitrarily and then punishing those who peacefully protest through democratic means is nothing short of tyranny, he stressed.
