Hyderabad: Holding the Congress government responsible for the mismanagement of Hyderabad’s construction sector, BRS MLC Dasoju Sravan on Saturday criticised Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for poor governance, which he said is eroding the city’s image as an investment destination.
Addressing a news conference at Telangana Bhavan, Sravan noted that Revanth Reddy’s recent speech at the CREDAI property show in Golconda failed to provide reassurance to the struggling construction industry, a vital revenue driver for Telangana.
Sravan alleged that the Chief Minister lacked vision and wisdom, claiming his governance has created a crisis in the sector. He recalled that policies under the previous BRS government had established Hyderabad’s reputation as an attractive investment hub.
“Under Revanth Reddy, building permissions in GHMC and HMDA have plummeted, with thousands of applications pending and rising ‘RR Tax’ demands,” Sravan said, accusing the government of using RERA and HYDRAA to intimidate builders and citizens.
