Dasoju Sravan seeks Revanth Reddy’s resignation over Group-I paper leak

BRS MLC Dasoju Sravan demanded Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy's resignation over the TGPSC Group-I paper leak, drawing parallels with Congress' demand for the Union Education Minister's resignation over the NEET controversy. KT Rama Rao will skip birthday celebrations to join a student protest.

Hyderabad: Amid ongoing protests over the NEET paper leak, BRS MLC Dasoju Sravan demanded Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy‘s resignation over the TGPSC Group-I paper leak. He said Revanth Reddy was equally accountable for the controversy, just as the Congress was holding Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan responsible for the alleged NEET paper leak.

Addressing a press conference at the BRS Legislature Party office on Thursday, Sravan questioned why Congress leaders were demanding Pradhan’s resignation but not seeking Revanth Reddy’s resignation over the Group-I issue. He alleged that the Congress lacked the moral authority to protest over the issue.

He also accused Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of adopting double standards by condemning the police action against students in New Delhi while remaining silent on the alleged lathi-charge against unemployed youth by his own Congress government in Hyderabad.

Sravan ridiculed the Chief Minister’s allegations linking BRS Working President KT Rama Rao to irregularities in the 2019 Intermediate examination results in Telangana, even during the protests over the NEET paper leak controversy. He said the latter had consistently supported unemployed youth over the past two years by opposing GO 29, GO 46 and issues related to the Group-I examination.

Meanwhile, BRS Medchal-Malkajgiri district president and MLC Shambhipur Raju announced that the BRS Working President would keep away from his birthday celebrations on Friday. Instead, Rama Rao would participate in the BRSV protest at Indira Park in support of students protesting against the NEET issue and the police action in Delhi. He urged students and youth to participate in the BRSV protest in large numbers. He also appealed to party workers to plant saplings across the State to mark Rama Rao’s birthday.
