Hyderabad: BRS MLC Dasoju Sravan castigated Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for making a mockery of constitutional morality and democratic values in Telangana.
Referring to Revanth Reddy’s recent petition in the Supreme Court over procedural lapses in the Cash-for-Vote scandal, Sravan said it was shocking that a person caught red-handed and seen bargaining with bags of cash to buy an MLA had the audacity to call it a procedural lapse.
“When crime is rewarded with power, culpability is painted as a procedural lapse, manoeuvring the very principles of the Constitution and democracy itself,” he said. He added that under the Congress government, accountability was dead, ethics were buried, conscience had collapsed in public life, and democracy had become a mockery.
