Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao said the data, artificial intelligence (AI) and content sectors were poised for a golden era, with vast opportunities emerging as the digital economy expands. He emphasised the need for companies to focus on Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities for expansion, providing opportunities for young talent.

He inaugurated the new office of Constor Solutions at Phoenix Primia in Financial District in Hyderabad on Friday. The company’s senior management briefed him on its operations, expansion plans and future goals.

Addressing the gathering, Rama Rao said the world was changing rapidly and data, data centres, servers, AI and content were becoming increasingly important. Drawing on his experience of observing the technology sector from both government and industry perspectives, he said those working in these fields had an amazing future.

Referring to Constor’s focus on data storage and content management, he said the exponential growth in content creation and consumption had increased the importance of storing, managing and distributing digital content.

The former IT Minister welcomed the company’s focus on Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities, stating that young people in smaller towns had considerable talent, determination and an appetite for opportunities. He suggested that companies should take jobs to talent rather than requiring young people to move to Hyderabad. “Identifying talent in smaller cities, towns and villages and providing opportunities could help companies grow rapidly,” he added.

He said the Covid pandemic had demonstrated that geographical boundaries were no longer a major constraint on work and that talent was the key factor. He recalled that the previous BRS government sought to expand IT activity beyond Hyderabad by establishing IT hubs in cities including Adilabad, Khammam, Nalgonda, Nizamabad, Siddipet, Suryapet, Mahabubnagar and Karimnagar.
