Hyderabad: Describing the BJP-led Central Government as anti farmer Government, Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister E.Dayakar Rao said the Centre’s latest move of revising fertilizers prices was a testimony of the anti farmer policies.

He said Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao already written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and has commenced an agitation against anti farmer policies of the Central Government.

“Telangana was leading the chart of States, which were working for farming community’s welfare and development. Is there any measure by Centre which benefited the farming community, ” asked Dayakar Rao.

Telangana has been appealing the Central government to synchronize agriculture with MGNREGA scheme since last five years. There was no response from the Centre, he said, adding Central Government had withdrawn the farm laws but was continuing to cause problems for the farmers by revising fertilizers prices.

Lashing at the State Congress unit, the Minister said it was during the Congress regime when the entire Sriram Sagar ayacut was parched. In the past, did the Congress Government supply sufficient power to the farming community, he asked.

“TPCC president A Revanth Reddy when he was in Telugu Desam party staged protests against Congress Government for its failure to supply power to industries and agriculture sectors. Now, he is boasting about Congress Government’s achievements,” pointed out Dayakar Rao.

The agriculture sector was ruined in the Congress and BJP Governments regimes. Leaders from these parties should desist from making false comments on Telangana Government and discuss about welfare measures, if any in the Congress and BJP ruled States, he demanded.

BJP State unit president Bandi Sanjay should mind his language. “Bandi Sanjay keeps commenting that BJP would arrest the Chief Minister. Forget about arresting, I dare you touch the Chief Minister. People will chase away BJP leaders,” warned Dayakar Rao, adding that Telangana would continue its agitation till the Centre withdraws orders of increasing fertilizers prices.
