Days not far for Revanth Reddy to experience ire of people, says KTR

Making it clear that foul-mouthed attacks targeting the BRS leadership would no longer be tolerated, Rama Rao said he would file a defamation case soon against the Chief Minister.

Hyderabad: Coming down heavily on the Congress government for its acts of downright cheating the people in the State were subjected to, BRS working president KT Rama Rao on Saturday warned that the days were not far when Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy would have to incur the ire of the general public. He would not be able to escape the wrath of the farming community that had borne the brunt of his misrule, he said while addressing a Mahadharna by farmers at Kandukur here.

Making it clear that foul-mouthed attacks targeting the BRS leadership would no longer be tolerated, Rama Rao said he would file a defamation case soon against the Chief Minister. His cabinet colleague who ventured to talk ill about him also would not be spared until she tendered an unconditional apology. Besides a civil defamation case, a criminal case would also be filed against her. The BRS leadership did not yield to the threats of even Prime Minister Narendra Modi. There would be no question of being cowed down by the tactics of Revanth Reddy, Rama Rao said.

Pointing out that right from the Chief Minister to Industries Minister, everyone in the government had had gone on record that the Pharma City project was scrapped, he said Congress leaders had assured the farmers that the 14000 acres of land acquired by the BRS government over a seven-year period for the project would be returned to them. But now the government’s stand was altogether different. The Chief Minister was out to promote the real estate interests of his family and his cabinet colleagues.

Statng that the State government had now informed the courts that the Pharma City project would not be scrapped, he said the government was trying to divert the land for other purposes. But it would be in violation of land acquisition norms. The courts would step in the moment the lands were allotted for other purposes, he said, demanding that the Chief Minister spell out the stand of the government in categorical terms on the fate of the prestigious Pharma City project.

The Chief Minister who had no funds to support the infrastructure in the present city, was talking of a future city and a fourth city as well. It would be the four brothers’ city with Revanth Reddy’s brothers being prime beneficiaries. Without acquiring any land so far, how would it be possible to go for new projects such as the AI university and Sports university, he asked. The Congress government had decided to go it alone in acquisition of land for the southern stretch of the RRR project by spending Rs.13,000 crore. It had declined the participation of the Centre which had borne 50 per cent of the land acquisition cost for the northern stretch of the RRR. The sole intention of the move, he said, was to go for realignment of the RRR plan to promote their own interests. Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy was keen on it while the Chief Minister was out to play the role of a real estate broker, he said.
