Death of woman due to food contamination: Grill 9 hotel seized in Nirmal

Nirmal: Following the death of a 19-year-old woman caused by alleged stale food, Grill 9 hotel was seized by officials of the food safety department here on Thursday.
The officials of the food seized the hotel and instructed the management of the hotel not to open the eatery until further orders were issued. The owner of Grill 9, a multi-cuisine restaurant, is said to be absconding following the incident.
Phool Kali Baiga, a cook from Madhya Pradesh working with a private school from Pochera village in Boath mandal and five staffers and seven others fell ill after eating chicken 65, tandoori chicken and chicken fried rice when they were shopping for garments in Nirmal on November 3.
She died while undergoing treatment at a government hospital in Boath on November 5.
Based on a complaint received from Sister Smitha, principal of the schoolw, Boath police registered a zero FIR against the restaurant. Investigations were taken up.
