Debt-ridden farmer ends life in Warangal

Reports indicate that Naik, distressed by mounting debts, went to his fields in the morning and consumed pesticide. Farmers in nearby fields found him unconscious and rushed him to the government hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival.

Warangal: A debt-ridden farmer of Chandru thanda of Wardhannapet mandal in Warangal district ended his life by consuming pesticide on Saturday. The deceased was identified as Banothu Maibu Naik.

According to reports, Naik, who was depressed over mounting debts, went to his fields in the morning and consumed pesticide. Farmers working in neighbouring fields noticed Naik lying unconscious and shifted him to the government hospital, where he was declared brought dead.


A case was registered and investigation is underway.
