Hyderabad: Ahead of the Rythu Maha Dharna in Nalgonda on Tuesday, the BRS has intensified its criticism of the Congress government over its failure to deliver on promises and betraying farmers. The party is organising a series of farmer protests in all district headquarters across the State, demanding the Congress government to fulfil its commitment to Telangana’s farmers.

Speaking to the media persons at Telangana Bhavan on Monday, former MLC Karne Prabhakar lambasted the Congress for diversion politics and inconsistencies in implementing key schemes. He said while over Rs 41,000 crore is required for the promised loan waivers, only Rs 20,000 crore has been released.

“This is deception at its peak. During the BRS regime, we spent over Rs 1.06 lakh crore on farmers through Rythu Bandhu, Rythu Bima, and loan waivers,” he said. He also accused Congress of instigating police action against BRS activists and farmers. “Despite attacks, we will continue to fight for farmers’ rights,” he said.

In a separate press meet, BRS leader Errolla Srinivas spearheaded an unusual protest, sending toilet cleaners to the Congress leaders who were peddling lies and making false promises. At a press meet, he accused Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy of failing to fulfil his 100-day promise of delivering Indiramma houses and depositing Rythu Bharosa funds.

“The Congress is running on the foundation of lies. Their stench of deceit is worse than drainage. Hence, we are sending these toilet cleaners to Gandhi Bhavan as a mark of protest,” he quipped, adding that the protest was a warning to Congress to adopt meaningful politics.
