Deepika Padukone launches initiative for frontline workers’ mental health
The actor collaborated with Live Love Laugh Foundation that works with people going through stress, anxiety and depression, and Sangath India, an Indian NGO committed to improving mental health
Hyderabad: Deepika Padukone has now extended her complete support towards the mental health of the frontline workers. The actor, who has always openly spoken about dealing with depression herself, has now decided to direct the proceeds from her online venture ‘The Deepika Padukone Closet’ towards the cause.
For the cause, Deepika has now collaborated with Live Love Laugh Foundation that works with people going through stress, anxiety and depression, and Sangath India, an Indian NGO committed to improving mental health.
Announcing it on her social media handles, the actor wrote: “Frontline workers have been the backbone of our country as we weather this pandemic. Having had a lived experience with mental illness, I understand the importance of emotional well being, and as a mental health foundation, we are grateful to be able to contribute to the mental health of our country’s frontline workers with ‘Frontline Assist’(sic).”
Frontline Assist is the name of the initiative to support the mental health of frontline workers. “We are proud to direct proceeds from ‘The Deepika Padukone Closet’ towards mental health support of our country’s real heroes through our partnership with Sangath,” she added on her Instagram post.
