Nirmal: Parents of Class X meritorious students wait for announcement of admission notification by Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge and Technologies (RGUKT) also known as Indian Institute of Information Technologies (IIIT)-Basar for 2025-26 academic year.

The parents of students who passed in Class X with flying colors, said that they were now worried by the delay in notifying the admissions into various six-year-long integrated engineering courses offered by premier engineering institute, RGUKT. They stated that they were unable to make the right decision for their children’s higher education due to the delay.


“My daughter passed in Class X and got over 90 marks in each subject. I would like her to join the RGUKT-Basar. Many private colleges are offering free intermediate education to her. However, I am not willing to get her admitted in privage colleges. Officials should announce the admission notification at the earliest,” says G Mahesh, a parent.

Incidentally, the delay in releasing the admission notification for the 2024-25 academic year also triggered panic among parents and students. The delay is making parents nervous and some of them are getting their children admitted in private collages spending lot of money.

Meanwhile, confusion prevailing over the selection process as the government decided to do away with the grading system for Class X. The score cards who a row with final result of pass or fail.

University officials say the admission would begin after the government’s nod. They clarify that seats would be allotted based on the marks of students. They cautioned parents not to trust middlemen, who promise to help students get an admissions after charging hefty consultation fee.

As many as 1,500 seats in integrated B Tech programme would be filled up by students of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. A total of 1,404 seats are reserved for candidates from general category, while 96 seats are earmarked for candidates of special categories.
