Visakhapatnam: Even as it was thought there was some relief with the decrease in COVID cases, seasonal fevers, particularly dengue, is causing panic in the Agency where the tribal population is queuing up before the health centres.
The death of state BJP general secretary Lokula Gandhi during the weekend due to dengue is an example and the young politician from Sarabhannapalem of Koyyuru mandal died in the King George Hospital in the city notwithstanding special care by the medical personnel.
Though only 13 dengue cases were reported so far in the agency, it is feared that the cases were on the rise along with viral fevers and other diseases. According to official sources, as many as 80 dengue cases were reported so far in the district.
