DEO initiates disciplinary action against 50 government teachers in Khammam
Khammam DEO Chaitanya Jaini took disciplinary action against 50 teachers for absenteeism, negligence and misconduct. Show-cause notices were issued, and one headmistress was suspended following complaints. Officials said such large-scale action was taken for the first time

Khammam: District Educational Officer (DEO) Chaitanya Jaini has cracked the whip against 50 teachers in Khammam district for alleged negligence in performing their duties.
Show-cause notices were issued to 34 teachers who were absent from schools without prior information or any reason, and 14 others who were absent without permission on the pretext of OD.
On the other hand, a teacher at Dendukur ZP High School in Madhira mandal, Srinivasa Rao, was given a show-cause notice after parents of students complained that he allegedly misbehaved with girls.
Enkoor Mandal Parishad School headmistress Jaya was suspended for behaving negligently with Kallur sub-Collector Ajay Yadav, who recently went to monitor the ‘Every Child Reads programme’ at the school.
It was said to be the first instance in the district in which disciplinary action has been taken against so many teachers at a time. Many of the teachers who faced action were said to be involved in real estate business and other activities during working hours.
