Hyderabad: Voters in Jubilee Hills constituency can now deposit their mobile phones outside the polling stations. This facility to deposit mobile phones at the polling booths is being provided for the first time, according to Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Sudharshan Reddy. Voters are expected to switch off their mobile phones before depositing them outside the booth and collect them later after voting.
Sudharshan Reddy said on Friday that polling stations being set up for the by-election would have all basic amenities and help desks to ensure a smooth voting experience. The CEO added that all arrangements would be made to make voting easy and accessible for everyone, including senior citizens and persons with disabilities. “Every booth will be ready well before polling day so voters can cast their votes comfortably and without delay,” Sudharshan Reddy said.
Voter assistance booths will be set up at each polling location, staffed by Booth Level Officers to help electors find their names and booth numbers in the voter list. Each polling station will have drinking water, toilets, waiting areas, proper lighting, ramps, and clear signboards. Standard voting compartments will be used to maintain secrecy, and voter information posters will display polling details, candidate lists, ID requirements, and voting instructions.
