Depressed Covid positive lecturer ends life in Nirmal
Nirmal: A contract lecturer ended his life by hanging as he was depressed after testing positive for Covid-19 at Rathnapur Kandli village in Nirmal Rural mandal on Thursday.
Nirmal Rural In-charge Sub-Inspector Suman Reddy said the deceased was Poshetti, a resident of Rathnapur Kandli village. He was working as a lecturer at a government junior college of Adilabad district on contract basis.
Poshetti resorted to the drastic step as he was disheartened after getting infected by the virus. He and his wife contracted the disease a few days back. They both were undergoing home isolation. While his wife tested negative for Covid-19 on Thursday, Poshetti committed suicide on the premises of a government school.
The couple has a daughter and son.
Based on a complaint received from his wife, a case was registered. Investigations were taken up.
