Hyderabad: Reportedly depressed over his failure in repaying debts that piled up from losses during the lockdown, a fruit vendor committed suicide by hanging in his house in Marredpally here on Tuesday.
Police said Venkatesh (30) had incurred loss in business during the lockdown and due to financial constraints he had taken hand loans too. Though the lockdown restrictions were relaxed, his business remained the same and sales were not as expected.
Depressed over this, Venkatesh hanged himself in the wee hours when his family members were fast asleep. On receiving information, Marredpally police visited the spot and examined it. A case was booked.
