Hyderabad: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed six more charge-sheets separately against the accused in a case related to derogatory posts on social media against judges and judiciary, including verdicts delivered by AP High Court judges.

The six accused – Sridhar Reddy Avuthu, Jalagam Venkata Satyanarayana, G Sridhar Reddy, Sreenath Suswaram, Kishore Kumar Darisa alias Kishore Reddy Darisa and Sudduluri Ajay Amruth — were arrested by the CBI on October 22, 2021, from different places in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. They are currently in judicial custody.

The CBI had earlier arrested five persons and filed five separate charge-sheets against them. With this, 11 separate charge-sheets have been filed against all the eleven persons arrested so far in the case.

The CBI is working on gathering evidence against one more person, whose YouTube channel has been blocked. Moreover, arrest warrants have been taken by the CBI in the names of two persons who are abroad, from competent courts in India, and the process for arresting them has been initiated through diplomatic channels. The CBI has gathered information about them by issuing blue notice through Interpol.

Action has also been initiated by the CBI to get objectionable posts removed from social media platforms and public domains.

During investigation, as many as 13 digital gadgets including mobile phones and tablets were recovered. The CBI collected call details of over 53 mobile connections.

Around 12 persons and 14 others were examined in the case. During examination, evidence from digital platforms were also collected using digital forensic technique. The CBI moved through Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty (MLAT) channel for gathering the information related to Facebook profiles of the accused, Twitter accounts, YouTube videos from Facebook, Twitter, Google etc.

The CBI registered the instant case on November 11, 2020 against 16 persons and took over investigation of 12 FIRs from CID of Andhra Pradesh in pursuance of the orders of the AP High Court in writ petition No. 9166 of 2020.

The original FIRs were registered following complaints from the Registrar General of High Court. It was alleged that the key personnel occupying posts of prominence in Andhra Pradesh made derogatory posts on social media platform against judges and judiciary following some court verdicts delivered by the judges of High Court.

The earlier charge-sheets were filed against Dhani Reddy Konda Reddy, Pamula Sudheer, Adarsh Pattapu alias Aadarsh Reddy, Lavanuru Samba Siva Reddy alias Siva Reddy and Lingareddy Rajasekhar Reddy alias Tera Rajasekhar Reddy.
