Khammam: Large numbers of devotees were attending the four-day annual feast of Karunagiri Shrine in Khammam city.
The festivities commenced on a grand note on Thursday with Khammam diocese Bishop Dr. Sagili Prakash hoisting the flag. The Bishop said that Karunagiri Mahotsavam has a special place and importance in the two Telugu states. Karunagiri director Mathew Varaprasad Raju said the festival was being organised with spiritual splendor for four days and would conclude on March 2. Religious leaders from various areas, nuns, believers and organisers of various committees participated. Khammam North Parish Church choir rendered devotional songs.
