DGP Shivadhar Reddy says policing is being brought closer to public in Telangana
Telangana DGP B Shivadhar Reddy inaugurated a police station in Kannepalli and stressed improving public safety through technology, while also promoting road safety awareness during events held across Mancherial and adjoining districts

Mancherial: Telangana Director General of Police (DGP) B Shivadhar Reddy inaugurated a police station in Kannepalli mandal centre on Sunday. He was joined by Multi-zone Inspector General of Police S Chandrashekhar Reddy and Ramagundam CP Amber Kishore Jha.
Speaking on the occasion, Shivadhar Reddy said that policing was being brought closer to the public by bolstering infrastructure and introducing innovative initiatives. The department was striving hard to provide better services to the public. He stated that efforts were on to strengthen security by using technology for public safety.
The DGP earlier attended an Arrive Alive programme conducted in Bellampalli town as part of Road Safety Week. He said that the programme should become a movement. He underlined the need to raise awareness on road safety among the public. He opined that road accidents had become a social menace.
He later inaugurated a library in Rebbena and a helmet chowk in Asifabad before distributing sewing machines to tribal women and helmets to motorists at the remote Jodeghat village in Kerameri mandal. He was welcomed by Mancherial DCP A Bhaskar and SP Nitika Pant to the two districts.
Bellampalli ACP Kiran Kumar, his counterpart from Jaipur Venkateshwarlu, Mancherial ACP R Prakash and many other police officials were present.
