Nalgonda: Following the increase in the number of coronavirus cases, the gram panchayat of Dhandempally on Wednesday resolved to adopt a 10-day complete lockdown in the village from June 10 to 20. Dhandempally, which has a population of 1,800, is located eight km from the district headquarter Nalgonda.
Village sarpanch Pushpa Saidulu said shops in the village will be open only between 6 am to 9 am. There will be no permission for any kind of function including marriages in the village for the next 10 days. Belt shops will not sell liquor to the people, she said, adding that action would be taken against those violating the unanimous decision of the gram panchayat. She also urged the villagers not to invite relatives from other places to their houses during this period.
Meanwhile, Nalgonda rural police filed cases against four villagers for not wearing masks. They also filed cases and shifted two persons were moving around the village even after testing positive for Covid-19, to an isolation centre.
