Hyderabad: Fifteen-time national champion Mazdayar K Vatcha feels that one needs to have skill to ride a 600 cc motorbike.
“It is not easy to ride these vehicles. It needs a lot of skill. Unfortunately, people purchase these fancy vehicles and venture out with high speed. It is sheer madness,” he said.
Vatcha further added that when riding the high-speed two-wheelers, it needs a specialised suit. “I don’t dare to go out without my suit even while taking out my 600 cc vehicle.”
Antilock Braking System (ABS) on all the new bikes interferes with the way brakes work. The system kicks in and prevents the wheels from locking, said Mazdayar.
This is designed to eliminate skidding of the vehicle. While preventing skidding, it also prevents Threshold Braking, thereby increasing braking distance. Increased braking distance is the reason for many crashes and deaths. This person is lucky to have escaped, thanks to the helmet.
“I would personally never ride a motorcycle with ABS. All my bikes and cars have ABS permanently disabled,” he added.
