Sangareddy: People who used to shy away from carrying out the land registration process for the fear of the cumbersome process believe that Dharani is a boon for everyone in the State. Charan Raj, a resident of Barkatpura, bought a piece of land a few months ago in Kandi mandal in Sangareddy district, but he did not go through the registration since the existing process then was too complex.
Charan Raj, who booked a slot for registration through Dharani Portal, got his work completed in just 20 minutes. Kandi Tahsildar M Paramesh completed the registration and mutation process on Wednesday afternoon. Charan Raj was all praise for the new system introduced by the State government since it made things easy for people like him.
“Normally, I would have to run from pillar to post to get the mutation done even after the registration process. Even at the registration office, I would have to wait in long queue for hours since there was no stipulated time for the registration of a particular document at the registration office,” he said.
Finance Minister T Harish Rao made a surprise visit to Kandi Tahsildar office around the same time when Charan Raj’s work was taken up. Paramesh, after explaining the functioning of the portal to the Minister, requested the latter to hand over the registration document to Charan Raj, who was on cloud nine to have received the document from the Minister.
Harish Rao explained to the people in the office that landholders can get the registration and mutation done within 20 minutes and copies of the document will be made available to them immediately with the launch of Dharani portal. The new passbooks will be delivered at the farmer’s doorstep within a week, he said, adding that Dharani was a very useful instrument for the farmers in the State.
