Mulugu: With the setting up of Dharani registration facility at Tahsildar office at the mandal centre, even in the remotest parts of the district like Eturunagaram, people in the Agency have expressed happiness over the facility. People of Eturunagaram, which is one of remotest parts of the newly created Mulugu district, used to travel 60 km to get their lands registered at the Sub-Registrar office located at Mulugu town in the past.
Speaking to Telangana Today, Billa Srinivas, a small farmer from Eturunagaram, said that he had married off his daughter Keerthi four years ago and gifted 1.04 acres of land to her. “But we could not transfer the land to her name all these years. We postponed the task as we have to travel 60 km all the way from Eturunagaram. But setting up of the registration office at the Tahsildar office locally has prompted us to complete this pending issue. We got registered the land by making a gift deed to my daughter within 20 minutes on Wednesday,” he said and added that he could save both time and money on travelling and preparation of the documents. “It is now easy to take the witnesses to the office for registration. Earlier, witnesses did not come forward as they had to waste at least two to three days visiting Mulugu to complete the process. “Setting up of the Dharani facility in remote areas is very helpful for people. We thank the Chief Minister for taking up this bold initiative which is also corruption-free,” he added.
